What does the research actually say about virtual donor stewardship, and what does it mean for how you run your events?
On April 8th, Brightside Philanthropy is hosting a free conversation with Dr. Virginia Harrison, assistant professor at Clemson University and author of a just-published study in Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly on virtual stewardship and donor relationships. Her research found that donors who attend virtual events report stronger feelings of identification with the organization and higher intentions to give again. But the why behind that finding is more specific than you might expect, and it has real implications for how development professionals design recognition, engagement, and communication with donors outside of the ask.
If you work in fundraising or philanthropy, especially at a school, faith-based organization, or mission-driven nonprofit, this one is for you.
